上海话剧艺术中心
上海话剧艺术中心建于1995年1月23日，是由原上海人民艺术剧院（始创于1950年）和上海青年话剧团（始创于1957年）这两个著名的话剧表演团体合并而成。
成立至今，中心已先后上演了古今中外作品100余部，并且与英国、美国、法国、澳大利亚、俄罗斯、日本、新加坡、韩国、爱尔兰、埃及、德国等国以及香港、台湾地区的艺术家们开展各种形式的合作及互访演出，获得海内外文化界的高度评价，在不同国家和地区的观众中引起了强烈的反响。随着不断引进国外原版剧目及制作优秀的当代戏剧作品，中心已培养起上海的话剧演出市场。亚洲当代戏剧季、纪念戏剧大师萨缪尔•贝克特百年诞辰、实验中国•文化记忆、纪念中国话剧百年诞辰等一系列活动的举办，使安福路的话剧演出成为上海一道独特的风景线，去安福路看话剧成为当代上海青年的一种时尚文化，一种生活方式，甚至是一种习惯。
上海滑稽剧团
上海滑稽剧团建立于一九八七年初，其前身是上海市滑稽剧团。
建团二十年来，创作演出了一大批优秀滑稽戏剧目，如：《出色的答案》、《性命交关》、《路灯下的宝贝》、《甜酸苦辣》、《阿混新传》、《GPT不正常》、《世界真奇妙》、《特别的爱》、《谢谢一家门》等。这些剧目均曾获得国家以及市级奖励。其中《阿混新传》还被改编成电影，并获"金鸡奖"之特别奖。
同时，剧团创作演出的曲艺剧目《主旋律》、《我肯嫁给他》和《鹦鹉》等也曾在全国的曲艺比赛和华东地区小品比赛中获奖。
如今，剧团新人迭出，继姚慕双、周柏春和袁一灵、严顺开、吴双艺、童双春、王双庆、翁双杰、李青、龚伯康之后，钱程、秦雷、顾竹君、胡晴云等已成为剧团中坚力量，他们的表演才能不公受到广大观众赞赏，而且也被专家肯定，钱程、秦雷、胡睛云曾获上海市白玉兰戏剧表演艺术奖；顾竹君已成为上海滩"女说唱"的响档。上海滑稽剧团编导实力雄厚，既有老一辈的朱济苍、周正行、钟高年、于龙、何适、李尚奎、缪依杭，又有当今创作活跃的徐维新、胡廷源、王辉荃等剧作家，导演。著名表演艺术家严顺开，由他扮演的"阿Q"和"阿混"曾获多次参加央视春节晚会，在全国产生了重大的影响。他的喜剧表演也滑稽艺术注入新的生命。

Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center (SDAC)
The Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center (SDAC) was founded on 23 January in 1995, after a merger of two acclaimed theatre companies, the Shanghai People's Art Theatre (founded in 1950) and the Shanghai Youth Drama Troupe (founded in 1957).
Over years, SDAC had focused on reaching out to the rest of the world for cultural exchange, learning from and sharing with other countries the experience of creating new dramas. Theatre productions ranged from western classical, modern and contemporary works (from Shakespeare, Moliere, Chekhov, Brecht, Sartre, Miller to Pinter), as well as plays by Chinese writers, and numbered more than a hundred. Apart from staging in conventional theatres, there were also experimental theatre productions that explored alternative performance spaces. The company has been invited to perform in Britain, USA, France, Australia, Russia, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Korea, Egypt, China Hong Kong and China Taiwan, winning critical acclaim. The project SDAC presented include Aisa Contemporary Theatre Festival, 100th Anniversary of Samuel Beckett’s Birth, 100th Anniversary of Chinese Drama Celebration etc.
The objective of Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center is to become one of the most modern National Theatres in China with high reputation and extensive influence.
Shanghai Farce Troupe
Shanghai Farce Troupe which was established at the beginning of 1987 once created a lot of comedies reflecting actual life such as “Man Yuan Chunse” (the spring scenery of the garden), “Xiao Zhe Xiang Zuotian Gaobie” (farewell to yesterday while laughing), “Yi Qian Ling Yi Tian” (one thousand and one day” under the guidance of Mr. Huang Zuolin.
Since its establishment, it has created a great many comedies for about twenty years. After great comedians of Yao Mushuang, Zhou Baichun, Yuan Yiling, Yan Shunkai, young actors such as He Saifei, Qian Cheng, Qin Lei, Gu Zhujun, Hu Qingyun who have won a lot of prizes in Shanghai and China as a whole have become staunch force of the troupe.
